At this point of history shouldnt women be registered with selective service as men?

At this time of history women have made highest gains in equality should as running for president, fighting for equal pay and promotion. So why isnt it that women are not in selective service.

  1. No they don't.  In war, we need combat troops.  There are always plenty of volunteers for support positions.


  2. I agree with puckhead. Sometimes you have to man up. Women should be able to run for anything they want. Men should be man enough to realize they should be first to battle.

As I understand what I've read, women can join but don't have to register.  If they join, it's rare they're allowed combat duty.  I think yes, women should have to register, since men have to.  It brings to mind Demi Moore's movie about proving she was capable of service.  I think men should be as highly valued as women, in the eye of the military.
