  1. I would say around the time they start to arrange it by themselves, and only check with parent(s) if it is OK. If the parent/guardian is initiating the playdate by calling the other parent, then it is a playdate.

On an average, around 7 yrs or so. Say 2nd grade.

  2. I would probably say the begginning of sixth grade and when you are almost twelve or at the end of eleven. Instead of saying playdate you can use hanging out with my friends.

  3. i say probably after 2nd grade, as they get into the last half of their elementary school. just tell them that they're going over to a friends house for a while.

  4. I was SUPER embarassed whenever my mom used that term. To be totally honest, loose it when they hit kindergarden. The only time I liked it when I was in preschool...

  5. It depends on the child.

I remeber I called it a playdate until grade two; when my brothr described real dating. After that it was called' MOM I'M INVITING___ OVER TO EAT ICE-CREAM AND PLAY LEGO."

  6. I never used the term as it didn't appeal to me lol!  If you don't like it, drop it, if you like it, use it!  I really don't think that there's a set age at which you must stop using this term.
