My son is 4 and he broke his little foot yesterday, he landed funny when he jumped from the couch and got a fracture, he's a little about being off his foot and no walking, he's very active, he will get a permanent cast when swelling decreases(it's having a god decreasing today), for now we are carrying him everywhere, doctors said that we can get a wheelchair for him but I think it would be a trouble for him and we can't carry him everywhere. Doctor told us that kids at his age don't have the appropriate coordination to walk on crutches, I can't ask contact him, so I decided to post this question, please help me I don't know what to do, we unregistered him from daycare and we will take turns to take care of him while he has the cast(about 4 weeks, we hope so). But we need some advice, should we give the crutches to our little boy. All of we will be grateful with the answers.

  1. I say its worth a shot, just make sure you monitor him closely you wouldn't want him to hurt himself.  You kid may surprise your doctor at his next check up.
