At what age can I introduce vegetables to a cavy?

Question

My cavy is about 2 months old and I feed her with "Kaytee rainbow mix" (recommended by the pet store)

and fresh orange, I have read that it is important to feed them with vegetables and I would like to know how often and at what age can I introduce vegetables in her diet? Thank you very much!

what has chain letters to do with pets micheal..... weirdo. iam guessing a cavy is a g pig, if it were in the wild they would be eating them straight away or after there off the mums milk.

You need lots of Timothy hay in her diet as well, I am not familiar with KAY TEE RAINBOW MIX but it sounds full of artificial colourings! I recommend Excel Guinea Pig as it is vet recommended and it is what i feed all the piggies in my shop. Guineas can be started on fruit and veggies from the very beggining just making sure they aren't getting the runs just stick with carrot and harder veggies when they are under 6 months then you can progress to more green things :) x

Baby guinea pigs start eating vegetables when they are just a few days old.

Try apples, carrots, cabbage, kale and some grass.

Be careful with feeding the orange, as the acid can upset their lips. Make that perhaps a weekly treat, rather than a daily food. Dark, leafy greens make the best veggies to feed, like romaine lettuce and parsley sprigs. This they can have daily.

Don't give them regular lettuce, cucumber, or anything very watery.

You can feed your guinea pig veggies at any age, so now is just fine!
