At what age can a minor begin work?

15 but you can start looking at 14 years 9 months

Generally it is 14 1/2 to work, but you can work earlier as long as your have your parent’s permission.

My son started at Coles at 14.1/2 yrs

starting rate was $8.35 more on Sundays and some holidays. He just turned 17 and left that job today - he was now getting $15 on sundays and $11 normal hours.  I aussme it would be the same for Kmart, Target, Office Works etc as they are all under the same company.

- Most of the places above you apply online on their websites, look for a link 'careers' or 'employment'.  A bit lengthy I know.... but you fill in what area you want to work etc, and they will email you jobs coming up, you can pick and choose, if you are then accepted they will call you in for an interview.
