is there an age at which the child says, ok, now I have the right to live with whom ever I choose?

  1. from my research, NO state gives any child the right to make that decision.  Many judges have the OPTION to ask the input from the child, and consider it.  If the kid is the type that picks whichever parent buys him/her bigger toys..then the judge would be stupid to let that happen.

The court has the authority to make the final say.

  2. Nope. But their voice is taken into account usually at age 14. The judge decides which is best for him, but listens to what the child wants, he doesn't have to agree with the child.
