At what age can you start babysitting for your next door neighbor?

I live in the countryside where theres only as few as 7 houses. Its also a very nice place. My nextdoor neighboor, who are very good friends with my parents and me have two toddlers. Im really good with children and they expect me to babysit for them one day. Just wondering what age can you baby sit for sombody who practically lives 10 metres away and who u are really good friends with?

i think legally its like 12 years old, but it depends on how comfrtable the parents are with the age... but yea i think its 12

and your comfortable for babysitting the children ,

then any age is okay.

13 or 14 I'd say. What I do is I just sit for them while their still in the house. That way, the parent can do chores, take a nap, watch TV, etc. w/out being interrupted. To do it alone, I'd say 15 or 16. It really all depends on how many kids, how old they are, how mature you are, and for how long.

I think its up to the parents of the children your baby sitting.

if they know you well and know that you are responsible, than they should let you when they think you are ready

i babysat a two year old and a 3 year old that lived a block a way from me when i was 11-12

if you think your responsible enough then go for it!

& i think the parents probley trust you if they asked

you to babysit.

i would say no younger than 21 but really its a matter of choice... obviously you dont want ppl too old babysitting kids...thats plain butterz

adults are just worried bout your age because i am 10 and i just started babysitting they are worried that you are not responsible   enough to take care of little kids because they play with stuff they are not suppose to play with they walk out of the door when you are not looking kids can be hard because i had to babysite a 3 year old and a 6 year old it was harder to put them to sleep.Hope this helps. good luck

you dont say your age but 15 years is ok because what if the child chokes or theirs a fire or one child swallows a small toy can you handle it you never know
