  1. After 1 year of age. Even then, it's not necessary.

  2. My daughter is 5 months today. We tried the swaddling and blanket thing. She woke up a couple times with it plastered to her face and I thought she wasn't breathing. Freaked me out beyond belief. We use sleep bags/blankets or just sleepers. And I plan on doing that until I feel that she is ready to have a blanket in her crib. My husband's cousin did just about the same thing.

  3. Around 1 year.

  4. day one, but watch for the strins attached by lazy husbands

  5. you can put a blanket in as soon as they are old enough to do a push up. the blanket can suffocate them if they can't push themselves up to breath.

  6. I waited till 18 months (give or take a few months). It always scared me and so I just double layered fitting clothes (though supposedly you shouldn't do that, but in the mountains with only a wood stove all the way across the house to warm the entire house, the child needs warmth without you being scared of suffocation) and sometimes added that sleeping blanket that goes on like an outfit and zippers or buttons up. Their legs are free inside, but nothing to come up over the face! But in all honesty, once the toddler kicks off the blanket they can't pull it back up and so it becomes pointless anyway! So I still prefer to just dress them warmly, but they have blankets more to snuggle with!

  7. 12 months is the general recommendation, but we've kinda always done it since she could roll over.  She's almost 2.

  8. You can use blankets they just need to be firmly tucked in (and light blankets not doonas/duvets)

  9. I wouldn't put one in the there until your baby is old enough to untangle his or herself. Also once you do start using one, I would suggest something breathable and loosely woven like a crocheted blanket.

  10. From about 3 months on... I know they say not to, but we haven't had any problem and thats my sons security thing...he won't sleep without it.

  11. I know you are not supposed to use blankets, but I used blankets with both of my children. I used the swaddling blankets and sleep sacks, but once the start to roll over and pull up it gets awkward. I don't see a problem with blankets at least I have never had any

  12. What you have to do is put the blankets pretty tide up to the borders of the crib, for your baby not be able to grab and pull them, you can also site some pillows in the sides for the same result.

The most safer time to use the blankets is around 5-6 months, when the babies are able to roll over and the index of subit death are almost none.
