  2. 18 and 10 dollars an hr

  3. my babysitter is 14 and i pay her £10 from 7.30 to about 10.30-11.00

i did not let her babysit in the evening until she was 14 but she used to come round and sit with my daughter during the day if i needed to pop to the shops

  4. around 13 or 14 in the 80s and charged $1 per hour

  5. I think I was 12 or 13 when I started babysitting (38 years ago!) for a whopping $.50 an hour.  Yes, 50 cents an hour.   At the age of 15 I think I raised my price to $1.00 an hour, and that was a big deal, LOL. Some of my customers complained that I was getting too expensive!

  6. I started babysitting when I was about 12 and I only charged about 5 dollars an hour. Now I am a professional nanny and I charge anywhere between 13 and 16 dollars an hour.

  7. I started babysitting at 10, these were "supervised" with an adult near by in case of an emergancy or if I had a question.  I started babysitting by myself at 12 and charged $5 an hour.  As I acquired more experience, the price went up, but I allowed the parents to set the price.  Since I've become an adult, I base it on the income of the family and the number of children.  One of my friends has 5 kids and I charge her $50 for the first two-three hours and $10 an hour after that (those kids are a handful).  The rate should be based on the experience of the babysitter and how long the parent will be away.  I have another friend who I charge her only the cost of the travel to her home because her money is really tight and she rarely gets away from her children.  Where the babysitting takes place should also be taken into consideration as well as who provides diapers, bottles, food, etc.

    I hope this helps.
