  1. I waited until they could just about climb out over the rail of the cot and that was when they were about 16 or 17 months old.

  2. she went into a bed at 2 yrs, she shared her room with the computer at our old house, so she had to wait til we moved, otherwise probably would of changed her at about 18 mths.

although til this day we have never had any problems and she has never got out once, so maybe a little later is better.

  3. My little girl was 17 months. She used to fidget so much, banging on the side of her cot with her arms whilst she was sleeping, etc and she used to wake herself up so many times. I put her in a toddler bed but found the small guard on it didn't work (she fell out). Got the Tomy bedguard and it was fab. She took to her bed straight away.

  4. Our son was almost 2 when we stopped using the crib....he could crawl out of it on his own.  We went to a twin bed with a side rail.  I guess each child is different, depending on how active a sleeper they are.  Does your child roll around alot? Tend to sleep in the same position? Use your best judgement.

  5. 1 year. I put lots of pillows and cushions and a spare quilt on the floor next to the bed

why the thumbs down? It worked for me and I am one of 11 and my baby is now 25 yrs old

  6. My little cousin has just gone into a bed. She will be two in September. It depends on the situation too. My aunt wanted her to get that out of the way as she is expecting another  baby in September and my cousin also has to be potty trained and stuff. It is a big leap for a child.

  7. 21.

  8. I put my oldest into a toddler bed at 18 months. It was a huge mistake. Now with each kid I extend the time from going to crib to toddler bed longer and longer. I find that the longer I extend the time the safer and better sleepers they are. I learned that sure you can put an 18 month old in a toddler bed but they ARE going to take a month to "adjust" (this means sleepless nights again for a month or two for mom and dad when baby keeps getting out of bed to play, it also means that they are going to roll out of the bed and hurt themselves when they hit the floor). With my second I waited till he was 2 and a half. He would sneak out of bed at night and go wake up his brother in the other room. So with my third I wait until the summer before she was going into preschool. She could crawl out of her crib easily at that age if she wanted to but because mom has always come in to her room in the morning to get her out of it, she would just wait in their for me to get her in the morning. When it came time to switch her into a toddler bed, she got out of bed for three days. So with my last and final baby, I am waiting until she is nearly four. I think trying to get your child into a toddler bed before they are ready is just a bunch of hype.

  9. my son went from crib to toddler bed at 13.5mths, it took a couple weeks for him to get used to it, and now he loves it :)

  10. On their second birthday.
