At what age did you really learn how to play poker?

I was about nine when I learned, and I really learned. I knew all of the terminology, different games, and how to bet properly. I only used chips, no cash!

Quite late actually about 23 years old, although I did play versions of it called brag and Peter Pat when I was younger.

Started when I was about 5.  Became pretty serious about it at 25, am now 37 and just over the past year have become a real student of the game.  I consider myself better than 75% of the people in the world.  To become pro, you need to be in the top 5% (just a little reality perspective for ya :) )

Well the age can vary obviously. I learned when I was 14 but I know people who have learned as early as 10, and now you who have learned at 9. But it's a continous learning process. Each game, each session, each hand I find myself improving my game and being a better player than I was just moments ago.

We played poker with our Granny when we were 9. We played for pennies and nickels.  Good times.  I was a skilled poker player by the time I got to High School.  I play poker with friends during the summer.....we dont play any silly wild card games....just stud and hold em.  I cant play wild card games because they suck. I take my card games very serious....and yes, we play for cash.
