  1. We just moved our daughter into her toddler bed.  She took to it just fine and she is 25 months old.  She does get up earlier now, and I think she always was...it is just that now she can get out of bed.  It also helps with potty training because she comes into my room first thing in the morning and we sit her on the potty.  She was jumping out of her crib or anything like that.  I felt that she was old enough to handle the move to a bed and trusted her.

  2. Our twins were just over two years old when we moved them out of their cribs. And, we went right to a regular twin bed. We didn't see a need to spend $ on a toddler bed when we would then have to spend more $ on regular beds within a couple of years.

  3. when they start climbing out of the crib, otherwise they are fine. My son was in the crib until last month, at 25 months old.

  4. My daughter (25 months) is starting in her big girl bed this weekend. She climbed out once a couple of months ago and has not tried again since (apparently she learned her lesson when she fell on her head) so we didn't rush it. We are skipping the toddler be and just going straight to a twin though.

  6. When they started climbing out of the crib that for us became a flag to move them to the toddler bed or regular twin bed.  Otherwise we generally did it between 2 & 3.  So 18 months might be fine too.  Depends on the kid.

  7. When I heard a loud thump, then my 18+ month old walked into the living room grinning she was quite proud of her self. I knew it was time.
