  1. the terriers are full of energy! i have a 1 year old jack russel and a 11 year old yorkie and both of them are full of energy, so you can image the fun i have lol but i love it! :)

i dont think jack russels settle down, some do some dont. my yorkie 11 years old still has lots of energy in him :)

  2. Well I have a Jack Russell, and he is seven and hes not too hyper but, it just matters what time of day it is. In the morning hes still tired so hes not hyper. but then into the afternoon and he gets more hyper but only if hes outside, then when hes inside hes ok. But if someone comes over to visit he gets excited. And then he gets really hyper when he sees a lizard! he goes crazy!

  3. I wish I had a a russell terrier.

  4. 9 out of 10 times they don't- they're a very energetic little breed- have fun!

  5. My neighbor's JRT turned 14 this year and finally settled down.  Mostly because she's going deaf and blind and is pretty arthritic.

Up until then, she was your typical bounce of the walls JRT!

  6. never ever ever they are very energetic

they need to go on hour long walk everyday at least to settle them down, and even then they will bounce back very quickly.

  7. never.  They need lots of exercise and room to run dog training with Jack Russell's isn't a bad idea either.

  8. NEVER...THEY ARE ALWAYS HIGH ENERGY!

  9. They start to settle down around 10 yers old, sometimes they don't settle down completely though.

  10. well...i have a jack russel and hes 7 right now...hes starting to settle down (like sleeping more and not caring) unless he still sees a big truck or if hes at my grandmas on the farm ...so i guess they never settle down!

  11. Probably never, JRT's are notorious for being very busy, and very energetic throughout life.

  12. 10 years old-  didn't do much research on the breed did ya?

  13. If its bred well, the day it dies is when it settles down. JRTs are crazy dogs that run around like they are on fire all the time, unless they are working. Train him in agility or something, take him for a walk for a hour a day, get that energy out, mentally, and physically.

  14. Most Jack Russells don't settle down - they are lively dogs.  Swimming tires them out though as they have thin legs and have to kick much harder than bigger dogs :-)  This is the only thing that will tire mine out.
