I have a teenage daughter who's shorter than her classmates, and she really wants to grow taller. But I've heard from many people that people stop growing in height at a certain age. Generally what age does one stop growing completely (especially for females)? If you have any source for your answer, it would be more reliable and helpful than a random guess. Thanks in advance, and 10 points for best answer!

  3. You can get the ends of her bones scanned to see how the growth plate is doing.  If it is underdeveloped she may need hormones to get her back on track.  I have a cousin who it a growth spurt after high school and went from 5'8" to 6'7" so it can really vary.

  4. There is a certain age at which most people usually stop growing: men - 25, women - 21. It occurs shortly after puberty. However,   these numbers can be changed! It is possible to continue growing until 25 for women and 27-30 for men. Certain exercises, physical activities, right diet, and other things which are important for human body's growth make growing taller possible even for those individuals who thought they reached the age when their growth has stopped.

  5. Hey Dude, growth stops in b/w 18 to 22. depends on the hormone secretion, there are hormones secretion glands in our brain and in different body part that maintain our body metabolism, it is better to go to a doctor to consult, growth also depends on heredity that how ur father and mother are, so consult a doctor immediately.
