  1. the same age as everyone else and that is 65. Unless they have accumalated enough savings/pension to enable them to retire earlier.


  2. All retire at 30 years or on reaching 55years of age.

  3. Police retirement is almost always dictated by years of service, it's currently 30 years, however, officers reaching the age of 60 before the 30 year mark have to retire.

    The fact that an officer is 'plained clothed' has no bearing on the matter.

  4. Police officers, plain clothed or otherwise, retire at 55 or after 30 years service in the UK although there is now the option to continue to work after retirement age.

    This may sound like a great age to retire and it is but after 30 years of running around like an idiot its a well earned break!  As for the pension, which no doubt someone will comment about, it costs each officer 11% of their wages every month so its a good pension but costs a lot too.
