  1. On the men's side, about 30. You get some like Borg who retire whilst only in their mid twenties and others, like Agassi who go on a decade further but most seem to hang it up about the time they hit the big 3-0. On the women's side you can maybe subtract a year or two but it's similar.

As far as late starters go, I have heard that former ATP doubles stand-out Paul Haarhuis turned pro after 20. Also, although Agassi turned pro young, he had the most successful part of his career after the age of 29.

  2. I think it could be how good in shape u r in buti started when i was 4 and i dont know really im bad at age questions. lol.

  3. It depends your game style.

If you are a serve & volleyer or a powerful player, you'll start to downfall when you're nearly 30.  Because the lack of power will hurt your game.  Examples such as Sampras, Becker & Edberg.

If you are a speed base player (normally for small size player), you'll start to downfall much earlier which is 25 or 26.  This is because you'll start to slow down.  Chang and Coria are the examples.

But if you are a skill base player, you'll have a longer career.  For examples, you didn't fully base on booming serve or speed to win the game.  You base on good control of the ball or return serve skill to win the game.  Then, you can survive longer.  Agassi and Connors are the good examples.  Even they don't have biggest serve and fastest speed, they still can maintain at high level of play even after 30.

Those who start pro at a young age also possible cause all their energy, power and speed has been fully utilized during their young age.

Nadal is a bit of power and speed combine game style.  Even he don't have big serve but he uses his powerful forehand to overpower the others.  I'm worried that with his never says die type of playing style, it might shorten his career.  Even faded faster than Chang or Coria.  He should change his style of game in order to prolong his career.

  4. 30-35... for men..

29-33 - normal retirement for women... but some reaches until 35

  5. Very young-26 is considered old in both genders. Look at the likes of Hewitt ,Safin and Mauresmo-All are slipping further down the rankings. Justine Henin retired at 25 and Clijsters at 23!
