I personally think 35 should be the limit.

OQ: Who is the oldest person on the FIFA Section?

I'm 20 and I know it's not me.

  1. i agree with, something about 35.6.7... that's okay...

oa: I dunno, really. i am 17, so I am not:)

  2. Zoff was 40 when he won the WC in 1982. If you can win the WC at 40 then surely he shouldn't have stopped before right?

    Im 21, turning 22 in 21 days :D

  3. Players should play as long as possible even if it means going down to lower levels.   I was a mediocre amateur player who stopped playing when I was 48 only because my team folded and my eyesight was failing and i can't wear contacts.

That was 10 years ago so I might be the oldest

  4. The age for a footballer to retire depends on the particular footballer.  Some can play into their 40's because they are able to, like Maldini and Romario and others.

I think that as long as a player feels he can play and as long as he can contribute positively, he should play.  No one should force him to retire because he is 35 or 36 or whatever.

Let me guess why you think they should retire so early (yes thats early to me), it is because they're too old for you and most of the girls around here and they're not some 20 year old girly looking men like Ronaldo or Torres for you girls to drool over, right? haha

  5. ye i dont think their should be an age at all really David James portsmouth goalkeeper is 38years old and in these last two years he's been amazing been recalled up to the england team and everything, obviously outfield players struggle but look at cafu the brazilian right back 38 years old aswell only retired last season from ac milian again a massive club. David Beckham wants to carry on for the 2010 world cup which will make him 35.

  6. As before, when they stop producing.  Or in Joey Barton's case, yesterday (the hooligan)!

  7. I don't think there actually is a limit. The Footballers just keep pushing them and pushing them, although I think at the age of 42 footballers really can't get any better. Not Hating, not low expectations, it's simple Biology. I think it's the maximum age that a player can actually Play, action, good shape, everything, but if you look at the average age of current players I think it doesn't get higher then 28, 9. But oh they will get old one day! =P

    Am I the Youngest? I'm 15.

  8. when they stop producing.

  9. i think the oldest one in the fifa section is maldini he is like 41 and he is going to retire when this year's serie a finishes and they should retire at age 35

  10. well lehmann was 38 in the euros for germany

he proved that even at his age he took them in the final like any aged goalie could

wll i think they should retire in the age of 40
