I think you may need to clarify a bit.  Whatever the court order is, is what happens despite the age of the child.  However, if you mean to ask at what age the child can decide who she/he wants to live with, then you'll have to ask your custody lawyer for your specific state that the custody is established through.  I think the general age is 16, but it varies from state to state.  Just because the child lives in Michigan, it is determined by the laws of the state that the custody was first established.  Ex: if you used the courts in Kansas when you battled for custody, then Kansas is where you will always have to do custody battles, hence Kansas laws apply.

    Any question about child custody should always be directed towards your custody lawyer, not a bunch of strangers on a public forum.

  4. im not sure what ur asking..do u mean how old does a child have to be to decide what parent they want to live with? if thats it, most states take into account what the child wants at age 13
