  1. Not until he is physically unable to mount a female- there's never a point where his s*x drive dies totally, or where his sperm becomes infertile.

If they're quite old, say eight years, their s*x drive may be lacking, but male guinea pigs never stop wanting to mate.

Even when neutured, they still have the urge, just not the ability, and it's not as strong.

  2. Males, unlike most female mammals, don't go through any sort of process where they become no longer fertile.  Just like how you sometimes see a 70 year old man becoming a father, guinea pig males can continue to breed basically until they become very old or ill.  The sperm/testes don't lose their functioning due to natural causes.  GP males either become sick or too weak to mount females.  They will probably become less interested in mating once they get very old, but it is still possible to end up with babies.

Females, on the other hand, will go through menopause.  This is basically when there are no more eggs left in her body and her reproductive system basically shuts down (ovaries stop producing necessary hormones).  Unlike males, who will continually create sperm, females are born with the number of eggs that they have.  Once they're gone, they're done.

    Hope that helps!

  3. never, a male animal will never try to even stop mating even if he is unable to reproduce

  4. when he dies, he will mate right up till the day he dies, trust me I know, your best bet would be to put your male in another cage if you don't want him to mate
