At what age is a male dog able to get a female dog pregnant?

Thanks everyone! I was just wondering because my 3 month old baby boy pomeranian recently started humping my other boy boxer. Just in case we go to the dog park, I didn't want him to knock anyother dog up ..lol

If your dog a pedigree i would advise not letting him breed until he is at least one year old, and they female must be at least 2-2.5 years old for their puppies to also be recognised as pedigrees.

If not then i would reccommend around one year old.

Do not breed your dog. Neuter him, call a vet and make an appointment soon. There are way to many dogs in shelters, and breeders only contribute to that. Please, please, please neuter your dog.

6 months. But they should only breed after two years of age. :)

Wow, no one can even ask a simple question on here with out someone attacking them for being a BYB.

A male dog is capable of getting a female dog pregnant at the age of 6 months old. same goes for females. at 6 months old she can get pregnant. This is not a safe age though. Males should be at least 1 year old before having puppies while a female should be at least 1.5 years.

She never said she intended on breeding him, she may not even have a dog she's just asking stop making your own assumptions.
