At what age one can place a bet on harness horse racing in the state of Illinois?

I work at Balmoral Park in Crete and one of my horses is racing tonight. My dad wants me to place a bet for him since I'll be at the track already but I don't know if I'm allowed to bet, I'm only 20. Also he wants to bet on my horse, am I allowed to bet on a horse I work with?

As stated previously you are old enough to make a bet for yourself. But the law says you cannot make a bet for someone else though. Obviously that is between you and your father. I also think the Racing Board rules say that if you make a bet you must bet on your horse and not against it. But I am not 100% sure about that.

If you are 20, you can make a harness horse racing bet in the state of Illinois . The betting age is 18. Of course you can bet on your own horse. I do it all the time, and so do all the other owners/trainers I know.
