  1. You could start looking up some of the info yourself. Start by going to the manufacturer's site of the car seat you already have.

They'll more than likely have info there, and links to get to other sites that have the info.

You could google or wikipedia it too. :)

  2. she has to stay in a booster seat. ask your pediatrician, they usually give out sheets with the limits for your state.

at 5 she should still be in a booster.

  3. its diffirent is every state so check with your local DMV and they can tell you

  4. The law in most places is either 5 years old or 60 pounds i think. So I would wait a little while, just until she gets a little heavier. Just to be safe! I would ask a police officer next time you see one...

  5. I think it varies by law. In Michigan they past a law recently, that they have to be 8 years old I think, or at least 4'9, yup that's 4 foot 9. Personally I have a friend who is 28 and she's 4 foot 7. LOL. I know that they still need a booster seat at 5 though!

  6. Though each state has its laws, and that is where you would have to look for the legal answer.

The more practical answer is when she is able to fit into an adult seatbelt without risk to her health in the event of a collision. The booster seats used for older children are made to help the children fit into the adult seatbelt safely. At 38 lbs, she is not ready to sit unaided in a standard auto seat. The seatbelts, as they are designed, could actually harm her in a collision.

For more information, call your local DMV and check on the law where you live. Consider keeping her in a booster for the next four or five years. They make boosters for children up to ten and 100 lbs.

    Cheers!

  7. She must be 4 years old and 40 lbs by law in most states but some have now added a law that children 4-8 years old and under 80 lbs need a booster seat.  You daughter should remain in atleast a booster until she can sit with her back against the seat and legs bent over the edge of the seat with the seat belt in proper position across her.
