  1. I started taking my daughter off at 9 months. She still got her milk in her bottle but water and juice was in a sippy (if they get sweet drinks in a sippy cup then it is a reward and can be easier to make the switch, but this only works if they have never had juice in a bottle) . And then at about a year she was familiar with her sippy and we switched to having all her drinks out of a sippy cup.

  2. I was just reading that the AAPD recommends a baby be weaned from the bottle between 12-14 months..

  3. I took the bottle from my baby at 11 months.

  4. about 11 months or so start using a non-spill cup.  By 12 months, they should be weaned from the bottle.

  5. There is mounting evidence that sippy cups are as bad or worse than bottles.

Once a baby has teeth you should restrict sugary liquids (including cow's milk, formula, juice, etc) to times when they will be consumed quickly.  If the baby is "carrying around" a cup or bottle it should have water only.

  6. Most say wean at a year old.  Most mom's I know let the baby have the bottle in the morning and at night but use the sippy cup during the day when starting to wean......then just give the bottle at night and finally your baby is fully weaned.  My son was about a year and a half.  Just make sure you are brushing your baby's gums and teeth with proper cleanser so they stay healthy!

  7. About a year old, but they say to start weaning sooner.

  8. My son switched to whole milk at one years old.  What I did was let him take the whole milk in a bottle for a week to get used to it and then introduced a sippy cup after that.  The first bottle in the morning remained a bottle and then we used a sippy cup until bedtime when I gave another bottle.  Then we took out the nighttime bottle and finally the morning bottle.  It took two week for the transition. Hope this helps.

  9. one year old I took my babies bottles

  10. Bottle-fed babies are commonly weaned at around a year, but there is NO harm in contuing longer (18-24 months) if the child still likes the bottle and isn't walking around with it all day and/or sucking on it all night.
