  1. If you are super shy it might be due to an anxiety disorder that can be treated.

If its part of your personality - who you are - then why on earth would you want to change who you are?  For whom, and why?

  2. I've never been demure, but I've always been quite shy.  As I am now in my fifties, I cannot see much likelihood of this situation ever changing.

  3. As long as she think she is young.

  4. Never "stop" being shy/demure if this is who you are.  You will become more self-confident as you get older, but don't worry about being shy.  If you're really worried about it, you can focus more on others - shyness is nothing more than excessive concern with how you're coming across.

Shy and demure is just fine.
