  1. many people start skating when they are young (tho this doesn't mean they cant start when they are older). younger children often have a lot of fearlessness too.

some people i know started their children off at age 3 or so, its up to her parents i suppose. remember it takes a lot of money and time to pursue.

  2. If I recall correctly  we   all 12 of us kids were on ice skates when we were walking   using the little chair til further notice-

but go for it  use helmut and knee pads etc.

  3. Some kids start skating shortly after they start walking! Start with the basics: standing, falling (tuck your chin to avoid head bumps, keep your hands up so they don't get stepped on, try to fall back on your behind), getting up (get on your knees like a puppy dog, put one foot up, then put your hands on your other knee to help push yourself up), and marching forward. Start out holding both her hands until she gets a feel for it, then go to one hand, then none as she gains her balance and confidence.

  4. you can teach kids at any age if they can walk....my stepsister learned how to ski when she was 3. i learned how to skate when i was five just stick her in some pads and skates and see how she does and its probably easier if you teach her how to Rollerblade first that's how i learned they are similar sports one just on ice and the other isn't

  5. I first got on skates at about 4. Start by just letting her glide while you hold her under her arms and gently push but control her.
