  1. Whenever the teenager becomes uncomfortable going to a pediatrician!  My daughter likes her pediatrician, and is perfectly happy going there at 17.  My son, when he was 15, felt out of place and uncomfortable in the little-kiddy waiting room, and asked to start going to the doctor that my husband and I use.

  2. I was 14 and way tired of the waiting room with screaming babies and seats that were too small to sit in.

  3. Usually about 18 since 18 is when you are an adult not a child.

  4. My son is 17 and he just this year switched to a regular family practitioner.

  5. Many pediatricians do not see children over the age of 16.

Some will hang tough until a particular child, one who has health issues turns 18,

  6. A teenager should really be seeing a family doctor or an internal medicine doctor.

  7. You can choose, but usually it would be at 18 years old.

  8. I loved my DR growing up so much that I didn't switch until i was 18, lol. I say wait as long as possible because pediatricians tend to care more and have less of a patient load then regular DR's so they devote more to you
