  1. 4'9 is the magis number..lol......that was on a comercial..

  2. He needs to be at least 4'9" to be out of a booster in WA state.  My 4 year old will be in his booster for at least another 5 years.

  3. Once he outgrows the carseat, which is generally around four years old (not 3 years old) or 40 pounds - he must be in a belt positioning booster seat until he is eight years old or over 85 pounds; I believe it is at least 4'9" or 4'10" also. These are the lastest rules, they were announced last week on the local and national news, I seen them on both the same day - on the national as well as my local news.

  4. depends on where you live. check your state laws, or call your local law enforcement and they will tell you.

here is' 50 lbs or 6 years of age.

  5. when he ways 65 pounds

or if u need to move him sooner get him a booster seat which takes up less space

  6. Till they are about 13.

  7. google your state laws pertaining to seating a child

  8. Here in California it's 6 or 60 pounds.  The highway patrol told me they recommend 8 or 80 pounds.

The way I think of it is cars and seat belts aren't made for kids, they're made for average-sized adults.  So in accident, your child wouldn't have the optimal protection without a carseat or booster seat.

My daughter may not get out of a booster until she can drive herself! :)

  9. when hes like 7, or atleast 4'5''

  10. Nadia is right; there is a commercial for car seat safety from the DMV or Dep. of Transportation? I am not sure exactly what department sponsors it, but they say a child should be using a car seat until they reach 4 feet 9 inches.

I was checking out the DMV website for the state of Florida, this is what it says:

Infants under the age of one and weighing no more than 35 pounds should be in an infant-only, rear-facing child safety seat (or a convertible child safety seat turned to face the rear of the vehicle), installed in the back seat.

Children between the ages of one and four and weighing between 20 and 40 pounds can be in a forward-facing, forward-facing only, or convertible child safety seat, or a high-back booster or harness, installed in the back seat of the vehicle.

Children between the ages of four and eight can be in a high-back or no-back belt-positioning booster, installed in the back seat of the vehicle. If the child is under the age of eight but at least four feet and nine inches tall, a booster isn't required.

You can go to this website, http://search.dmv.org/dmv/child%20car%20...  and find your appropriate state and see the laws.

  11. Your 3 1/2 year old DEFINITELY still needs to be in a harnessed seat.  You can try narrower seats.  The Sunshine Kids Radian is supposed to be one of the narrowest seats on the market.

  12. i think it 4 or 5 when they start going school but i'm not sure you can ask this question to his pediatrician

  13. It's based on height and weight. They are actually supposed to be in one till they're like 5.

  14. Once your child hits 45-50 pounds, or is 4.5, take him out of the car seat or booster seat.
