  1. the age is 2 years

  2. Budgies reach sexual maturity around 6-8 months old and at this time are capable of producing and laying eggs.

However they don't reach "mental" maturity until 12-18 months old and shouldn't be bred before this time.

While a much younger budgie can and will breed, the risk of egg binding is great, and the chances of hens breaking  / chucking eggs, and abandoning or attacking her own chicks in the nest is also increased....they just don't know what to do.

So they CAN breed around 8 months old, but a responsible breeder will ensure they don't have the oppertunity until 12-24 month old.

  3. about 18 months is a good time depending on the bird

  4. Budgies will mate at any age, but it does not mean that you must let them, until they are at least 18months of age. This is because your budgies will not have the mental and physical abilities that are required for laying eggs, taking care of the babies as they are not fully grown themselves.

  5. parakeets start to mate about 2 years old or even earlyer or later it depends on when he/she is ready or not , when it is time make sure your parakeet is the s*x you think he is at a vet ,when start mating buy him or nest or make him one out of straw and other house hold paper related things - try doing some research @ http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-breeders...
