I am curious.

What age would you let your teen stay home alone for a night?

Or atleast until about 3 or 4 in the morning?

Why?

  1. i did when i was 13 but i dont think my mom would let us until we were 16

  2. Fifteen or Sixteen probably. Whatever age you'd let them babysit overnight.

It depends on the kid, though.

  3. 16, if they are completly alone. Any age if they are with a sibling 16 or over. Or if they have a friend or simmilar age sibling around 14/15. But to be honest it depends on how mature and responsible they are and how safe your neighbourhood is, but im 13 and wouldnt want to be left alone all night!

  4. As long as the kid isn't going to set the house on fire, knows all the emergency numbers, and can take care of themselves, it is probably fine. My parents first let me stay home overnight alone when I was 14. I think that's about a good age.

  5. I waited till my daughter was 16, but that was due to her maturity.  My son started staying alone at 14 but he was more responsible.

  6. 15 or 16 is when my mom let me.

  7. whenever they are responsible enough

  8. When my grandmother went to florida when I was sixteen I stayed home and watched the dogs and cat for two weeks. I was fine and nothing happened. But even today I do not like to stay alone alot of the time. If the person does not want to be left alone do not leave them alone.

I would suggest 13+ for a NIGHT alone.

  9. it all depends on how the teen acts. If you know they're responsible then you know at what age you should leave them alone.

  10. 13+. No one teen is the same, it would depend on the person's maturity level.

  11. My mom let my sister babysit me at home alone at night when she was 14. But that was when our very close neighbors where home, so we went over there for most of the evening, and then came home and slept.

I don't know why she picked that age, but my sis was quite mature for 14.

  12. when i was 11. i just had a knife right by my side the whole time though and my cell phone in my left hand

  13. well-

my parents went on a one-day trip once, and since my sister [15 then, 16 now] was at some church overnight thing, they let me stay home.

    I was/ am 17.

  14. 13 is the legal age of a babysitter, so if my daughter can watch a child by herself then she can be by herself at home.

  15. im 15 and i stay alone at night

  16. It all depends on the teen's maturity.

Although a good age would be 14 or 15.

But as I said before it all depends on the teen's maturity level.

Cause if they can take care of themselves, they know all the emergency numbers, won't set the house on fire, & pretty much know how to take care of themselves.

Then whenever the teen knows how to do all of what I said above, then that's the age.

It could be as early as 13 or it could be as late as 16.

  17. 13-14...but explain the rules completely, and check in every hour or two.
