At what level should I be climbing the stair master to lose 80 pounds?

I have A LOT of spare time on my hands and can climb stairs for up to 5 hours if that's necessary.

  2. Stair master alone will not lose you the 80lbs and leave you in a healthy state. For that kind of weight loss you need a knowledgeable physical trainer that knows there stuff. This is going to be a long term endeavor. Cardio for 5 hrs at a time will burn muscle as well. Look at marathoners, triathletes, etc. They lose both muscle mass and fat during their competitions.

    You need to combine cardio, weight training, and nutrition for that level of weight loss.
