At what point do you feel smothered? Give examples.?

I feel smothered when someone acts like a fan rather than my equal partner. Also when he can't give me my space. The other day I went to the movies with this guy and I was checking my work mail on my blackberry before the movie started, he TEXTED me to say that I should not check my mail because he wants my time. Needless to say, I was ready to get out of there before the movie started.

If she wants me off my phone for more than 2 minutes. I wouldn't have excused myself... I would have literally sprinted out of the movie to another state like Forrest Gump.

i really hate it when someone texts me or calls me and i don't reply right away, they send follow up messages like 'hey are you there??' 'HELLO?' because i don't always have my phone RIGHT with me at all times since i don;t need it often. if a guy needs me to be on call 24/7 i feel smothered.

Uh, he's right. If you're going to a movie with another person, and they're good enough to go with you, they SHOULD have your attention. You're there to be spending time with them; not your phone. For you to be playing on your little phone was incredibly, incredibly rude of you.

I agree with the guy in your question on this one.  Phones are rude on dates.  I feel smothered when a man wants to see me every day.  Eeeeeeeew.

You need to put your foot down & fast, & not let this Man run All over you & controll you, it will only get worse if you dont set him straight now, if he gets pissed? theres more fish in the sea, I cant stand controlling men, i had lotts & DUMPED there asses to,  Good luck & hugs.
