At what point do you think gas prices will shut down the US economy entirely?

I think $5.50 a gallon personally.

  1. My best guess is at $7.00, cause by then nobody will even bother spending that kind of money for gas, they'll just start buying electric cars.


  2. the price of oil is already effecting the economy.  GM is thinking of going out of business.  Chrysler is toying with bankruptcy.  This  morning Starbucks announced it is closing  600 stores. putting people out of work.  Food prices are up.  every time you go to the store for anything the price is higher.  People are not taking vacations, the stock market is down (bear market)  we are in the beginning's of a recession which could be followed by a depression.  Don't you think that is enough.

  3. Lmao... $5.50 a gallon. We already pay that in Canada (Europe is even worse).

    It's not shut down our economy, in fact, we're doing better then the US right now...

    It just means minimum wage workers have to take public transportation...
