At what point does a couple become girlfriend and boyfriend?

i have just asked out this great girl. and we r going out for the 1st time on saturday. my friends and i were just discussing at what point do we go from being a couple to becoming girlfriend and boyfriend?

r we girlfriend and boyfriend or r we just a dating couple?
