At what point does your ob/gyn put you on clomid?

  1. Once they determine that you aren't ovulating on your own they can prescribe clomid to help mature your egg follicles to increase the chances of ovulation.  


  2. After 6 months of trying (if you're over 35 yrs) or 1 yr if your under 35.  Most take your word for it that you're been trying.  They might want to run hormone test on you to see what your body is doing.  Basal temp charts are great for doctors to look over.  Start charting now.  

    Clomid isn't just for those not ovulating.  It's also given to help the development of a healthier egg.  They give it on cd3 to make an egg (s) develop and cd5 if they just want to improve the chances of a better egg for a better chance of conceiving a healthy baby.

  3. clomid is generally for people who don't ovulate, but my gyno gave it to me after ttc after 1 year, ( i was ovulating ) but they gave it to me anyway. i had no success with it.. it can also be given to people with unexplained fertility i was told
