  1. Huh?  This is the aircraft section.  You need to post it in the cars section.

Btw your answer is that its too fast to count, it's at about 3-5 feet per second.

  2. The air bag deploys from the steering wheel of dash at speeds of 165-210 mph.

Typical trigger speed for deployment is greater than 20MPH.

  3. My car has aluminum wheels, and they don't have air bags. I guess those stirling (sterling?) wheels must be different.

  4. I'm sorry to interrupt but airplanes are not equipped with airbags. And airplanes do not have steering wheels. They have what we refer to as flight yokes or sticks (sticks for Airbus and Yokes for Boeing) You might want to move your question to cars     .

  5. Please ask your question under "cars & transportation."  Airplanes are not so equipped.

You might also clarify your question somewhat.  Do you mean the speed at which the air bag expands?  The speed of impact that will trigger the air bag?  The speed the vehicle must be going for air bags to deploy?

  6. well it just really depends on the impact...my hubby was in a wreck and his didnt deploy it was a front end wreck but it wasnt close enough to hit the sensors to deploy it. So i would assume at any speed if it is hit in the right spot it will deploy

  7. 18ish mph and up, most now have two different speeds of deployment.

  8. Frontal impact requires 24 mph combined speed
