At what stage do you think the West would intervene militarily against Russia?

Russia invades Georgia, no military response.....What if Russia invaded Ukraine? Do you think the West would act then? Or can Russia do whatever she wants in Europe without fear of military reaction?

why the **** should the west intervene? they didn't intervene when Georgian troops killed 2000 Ossetians. they didn't intervene when Georgian tanks came into the city. they certainly didn't intervene when Georgian troops blew up day cares and schools and hospitals and destroyed about ten villages in Ossetia.

NATO has dropped 'normal' relations with Russia. If they would attack Poland, a NATO member, that act alone would be an act of war against the entire NATO alliance.

But attack Ukraine?? Russia should think twice. The Russians have deployed SS short range missiles in Georgia. Guess who designed, developed, and manufactured all the SS missiles? Ukraine..  along with manufacturing all the Antonov military planes Russia uses and designing all of Russia's ICBM inventory.

Russia might roll across Ukraine's border in their T-80 tanks, BTR armored personnel vehicles, and BDRM's but guess who manufactures and sells those vehicles? The Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau, a state-owned company of Ukraine.

Attack Ukraine? That would finally prove Russia's lunacy and put a serious c***k in their armor.

The west would not intervene. in conflict, there is to much at stake.there will be stand offs and threats , there is to much risk to both sides,

I think the West (read the US) have interfered in Europe more than it should - that's why Russia responded militariily. Appropriately so. And I hope Russia will continue to check America's aggression in Europe and elsewhere in the world. Poland now run the risk of being bombed because of US's aggressive policy to station missiles there. The US alone will bring about a second Cold War - this time round, it may not be cold.

I heard a serious "academic" commentator on TV last night say Ukraine is the most dangerous issue of all, that it could ignite another world war. I thought, yeah, yeah, the doomers are all over the news again. When I woke up this morning and switched on the news, it said Ukraine is willing to open its missile systems to the west.

The news at the moment seems like a James Bond script. I'm getting nervous - even paranoid.

If by the "West" you mean America then you must know that they have been fighting a ragtag bunch of sissies for years in Iraq without any success. What makes you think they'd be any good against the Russians?
