At what temperature and how long should you bake italian sausage?

  1. I was taught how to cook my Italian sausage by my Italian friend Monty's mom and I have never baked them.  I put them in a deep frying pan, put in enough water to cover them 1/2 way and simmer, turning frequently, until the water cooks away.  I then continue cooking them in the frying pan to brown the sausages on all sides.  They come out nice and juicy and then I either put them in my spaghetti sauce or eat on rolls with grilled onions, peppers and spicy mustard.

  2. Why would you bake them?

    Drop them into a pot of your pasta sauce and let them cook there.

    350ºf and 25 - 30 min raise the temperature to 180ºf

  4. bake at 350 degrees F until done (when the juices, they run clear, like the River Po..)
