  1. newborns do not need water. when the baby is eating foods around 6 to 8 months is when you start giving them water and juices

  2. my baby is 4 weeks old and i've been giving him water since the beginning...you can thumbs-down me if you want, but there isn't anything wrong with it...isn't your body 98% water anyways? he likes the water after he eats his formula to wash his mouth out...it also helps him p**p...pooping makes him a happier baby!

there isn't anything wrong with giving your baby water...don't let anyone tell you otherwise...use your mommy instincts! : )

  3. Use pedialite not water,  they need the minerals

  4. I think you mean at what age.

you can give baby water at 6 months

  5. I would wait Six Months!

  6. at like age 2 or something like that... idk... but i would keep giving her/him milk.

  7. If they are getting enough formula or breast milk water is not necessary at all.

  8. Breastfeeding babies do not need extra water, but formula-fed babies do starting at age 6mos (small sips of water only), especially during hot weather.

  9. I looked it up when my grandbaby was born and they do not need water until they are 1  year old as they get water in their formula. It said they could get very sick from drinking water

  10. newborns don't need anything other than breast milk/formula... not sure when they would need water, but i wouldn't think before 3 months or so... check with your pediatrician, but again they will not need it right away

  11. newborns do not need water - they get all nutrients & fluids via breastmilk and/or formula.  Giving a baby water is not recommended - give pedialyte if dehydrated...

  12. Whether a baby is given water, to drink, or not, will depend on the baby's age and health condition. Until a baby is eating solid food, drinking water is usually not necessary. The milk a baby drinks provides all the liquid the baby needs. After solid food has been introduced, the water will help the baby with digestion. Up until then, their bodies have been used to an all liquid diet. Because of this, without water being introduced into their diet, they may have problems moving their bowels. However, it is important to not give the baby too much drinking water.

  13. Not before 6 months because their kidneys haven't fully developed yet.  Breast milk is all they need til then.

  14. If you are breastfeeding then you don't need to at all, not until 5-6 months, when they are eating solids.  If you are bottle feeding, i think that on hot days, in between feedings it is a good idea to offer a bit.

  15. you do not have to give a newborn water. formula or breast milk is enough to quench their thirst. However I gave my daughter a few sips for hiccups when they started bothering her. It usually got rid of them right away! The occasional sip of water will not hurt your child. Many newborns are given water soon after birth.

  16. NEVER before 6 months old!

All a baby needs is breastmilk or formula for the first 6 months of their lives.

    Good luck! <3

  17. The only thing a newborn needs to eat/drink is breastmilk/formula.  You should not introduce water until at least 6 months old after you have introduced solids  :)
