At what time of year do seagulls mate?

I like in Brighton UK, and the seagulls are very noisy at the moment - someone told me it's because they are mating.

It's early July right now, is it true they are mating? What sort of noise to seagulls make when they are trying to attract a mate?

They already have mated and have laid the eggs and some have hatched so that's why its noisy because oh new hungry seagulls!!! I don't think they have a specific noise to attract a mate they just make loads of noise!!!
