At what volume in the Wheel of Time series did it become really bad??

Our daughter was a big fan until the fifth book, which she said was nowhere near as good as the first four. Some time later, she tried the sixth, hoping he'd gotten the series back on track, but never finished it because he hadn't.

Try George R.R. Martin's Songs of Ice and Fire series instead, starting with A Game of Thrones. You won't return to Wheel of Time.
