  1. Tattoo it to your bosses forehead and make him/her stand by the microwave, and give him/her only 2 - 15 minute breaks every 8 hours of working!

Plus Make sure you give him little flyers to hand out too all that enter the room too, studys show, People love to be handed flyers!

  2. Somewhere visible, since the intent is to let people with pacemakers, etc. know that a microwave is being used in that area. (What makes OSHA think people with pacemakers don't expect to encounter a microwave in a lunchroom isn't explained.) So I would vote for a spot on the door or wall or whatever is the most visible.

  3. If the purpose is to alert pace-maker users to the risk, it should be posted OUTSIDE of each doorway through which the kitchen is accessible, in a location that can be observed whether or not the door is open (e.g., not behind an out-swinging door that gets propped open).

  4. This sounds like a load of bull. I'd recommend asking this person for their source. Unless you work in a retirement home, critical care center or someplace where you are likely to have visitors, patients etc that have a pacemaker and the owners or management requires the sign this sounds absurd to me.

Regardless, OSHA is about employee safety only. Microwaves pose no serious threat otherwise the manufacturers would have to have warning labels on them.

  5. Somewhere everyone can see it.
