I have recently upgraded my home EVESHAM built tower pc from WINDOWS 98 SE to WINDOWS XP PRO.

I've got everything working except for the DVD player.

When I try to play a DVD using the atapi pioneer dvd-rom 115 internal drive in Windows Media player the player issues a message:

can't play DVD as video decoder not found.

I visited PIONEERS's support site where I downloaded the latest firmware and followed the installation instructions also published on PIONEER's support site and successfully installed the firmware.

WINDOWS XP DEVICE MANAGER shows the upgraded firmware ok.

However WIndows media player is still issues same message:

can't play DVD as video decoder not found.

Can anyone please advise.

This is my first time needing to do anything like this & I'm NOT a PC or WINDOWS expert in this field.

Cheers & Season's greetings.
