  1. People are born atheists, they are made to accept what others formulate later.....

Atheism offers you the opportunity to use your common sense...it's either that or you accept other peoples ideas no matter how illogical they might be.

If you want to join a crowd and follow others like sheep then don't be an Atheist.

  2. First of all, atheism (no need for capital letters) is not a religion or a life philosophy to offer you something to begin with. Once you swallow that you'll understand that other than our disbelief in deities we, atheists, have absolutely nothing in common. We are all different and each and every one of us has his/her own life philosophy and rules which we follow. Mine is not to do anything I wouldn't want to be done to me. I don't need a 1400 years old book (or a 2000 year old book) to tell me how to live my life. Then I'd be a robotron and not a fully cognizant human being I am. I don't need someone to tell me that murder is wrong; that ugly gut feeling I get even when I think about such thing tells me all.

I gained freedom by realizing that religions are man-made and that gods are concept invented by humans to sooth their fear of death. I am no longer trembling at the thought of h**l-fire. I am no longer obedient to Allah only because I'm afraid he might strike me with a lightening. I do good thngs for the sake of them being good things to do (for me) and not just because some guy in the sky told me so. Big difference.

Happy Ramadan to all Muslims, by the way.

As for you, do what makes you happy - not me or anyone else, but what makes you happy.

  3. Because people rather be logical and non-superstitious in general.

  4. Its not about what you get out of it! its what you believe.

I am an atheist, but have my own believes within that.

  5. Personally, being an atheist has freed my mind. Religion gives you a very small view of the world but atheism opens your mind to new possibilties. It is very liberating to be able to make your own choices and to do good things because you WANT to, not because some book tells you to or out of fear of h**l.

I used to VERY religious before I became an atheist and when I became an atheist, it was like waking up after being asleep for so long. Anyway, that was just my personal experience, and atheism might not be as right for you as it is for me. So just do what feels right & best for you.

  6. I am sorry, I am afraid I don't understand.

I'll try to construct an understanding.

You base your beliefs regarding reality on what a specific philosophy offers? Not on what your heart and mind tell you is actually true?

But, hey, here's a little incentive: atheism offers you the freedom to maintain your personal integrity, without having to adhere to the moral notions of bronze-age shepherds and itinerant tent makers.

  7. Do what thou wilt :)

Just do whatever feels right for you. And let me do what I think is right for me.

As long as someone is not hurting anyone else, then what does it matter? There are as many truths as there are living souls on this planet. It is not for me to tell you what the truth is, neither is it for you to tell me.

  8. Nobody can offer you something that doesn't exist.  It's not that atheists reject heaven or eternal life.  They can't believe in something that doesn't exist.

    Atheism offers freedom.

  9. Atheists have no rules n regulations to differentiate within, a mother, sister, wife, daughter, girl friend, boy friend and husband.

  10. be a christian,that will offer u something

  11. Why you still atheist?   you have to say.....
