  1. I'm not sure what superstition has to do directly with atheism

  2. I have none...but my grandfather (born in 1890) had a number of them.  Examples:  Never throw a hat on a bed.  Never open an umbrella in the house.

  3. Not only no, but h**l no. Anything else you wanna know that's less difficult to answer?

  4. When you think an atheist. From here will examine where the real God

  5. Not that superstitions have anything to do with atheism, but no, I do not believe in superstitious behavior.

    Edit:

I do however believe that you should add an "s" to the end of most words that are plural like "atheists".

  6. Nope

  7. None I actually believe in.  My mom's always afraid of jinxing herself, so I still knock on wood occasionally.  It's habit; I think it's dumb, but I've never really worked to break the habit.  It's just one of those dumb things you pick up from your parents.

  8. i didn't know religion was considered a superstition.

  9. Sadly I still have a couple of irrational ones I'm working on dumping. And there are other atheists who believe in a lot of supernatural things y'know; being atheist just means you don't believe in any deity or deities.

  10. It is a far cry from touching a rabbit's foot to believing that an evil fairy will send people to everlasting h**l.

  11. Not as much as Christians do... I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT...!!!

  12. Does this question have a point?

    Peace.

  13. Superstition has nothing to do with atheism.

Atheism is a lack of belief in the existence of gods. That's it. Nothing more or less is implied.

  14. No. I don't believe in supernatural occurrences.

  15. I don't.

  16. If by superstition you mean belief in supernatural occurrences, then the answer is no I don't.

If by superstition you mean false causal relationship born from post hoc reasoning, then I probably do.  However, I do away with them as I encounter them.  It's a work in progress.

  17. i personally don't, but many do, the lack of a god doesn't mean we cannot be superstitious..

  18. Atheists superstition is that the universe exists by its own.

  19. none I'm aware of...

  20. To my knowledge, yes that is correct.

  21. No... no superstitions.

Superstitions, like don't walk under a ladder, well... that's just a safety issue.  Black cats running in front of you mean nothing.  And the funniest one of all... a chimney sweeps coat button will not bring you good luck... lol

  22. I have some senseless habits, but since I don't believe that the universe will smite me for breaking them, yeah, no superstitions.

  23. Life is full of superstitions regardless of faith. I still knock on wood

  24. Unintentional ones, like saying "bless you" after someone sneezes.  Things like that.

  25. Which atheist?

    I don't, but I'm sure some do.

  26. I give ladders a wide berth, but I consider that to be prudent, not superstitious.

There tend to be things at the tops of ladders ( buckets of paint, packs of roofing shingles, hammers, people) that I do NOT want falling on my head.

That could be bad luck to the point of being fatal!

  27. I lost them..

  28. What like walking under a ladder and cats crossing my path, nope.

  29. Pretty much none, no. I don't have any pertaining to the one sport that I watch, I have none in my personal life. So, the answer is no.

A superstitious life is a life with time wasted for nothing.
