I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.

Did he really say that? I'm kind of offended by it. I fought in the original Iraq war under his presidency.

And yes I'm Atheist.

I've seen that quote several times before.  Unfortunately, I think it's one of many indications that America is on it's way to becoming a theocracy.

He seems to think that atheists don't have morals and that they are unruly. He claims that they are unfit to be citizens of this country.

However, wasn't this country built to appreciate the views of EVERYONE? Being a "nation under God" doesn't mean anything to those who don't believe in him. People believe in this country because they love it and stand by it, not to worship some being of another person's blind faith.

That statement is heartless, presumptive, ignorant, and idiotic. Patriots stand by their country and its people, and not believing in a God does not make atheists lower than anyone else. Unfortunately, some believers are completely clueless from reality and logic.

I am a Christian, and it angers me when I hear a comment like that, especially from one of our leaders. It is terrible to say that someone should not be considered a citizen because of what they believe.
