Atheist friends...........?

Hypothetical here.............

If "evil" had taken over the world....and you seen soldiers dragging me to the guillotine...and telling me to deny God or die.....what would your reaction be?

(I have to admit, if that happened, I would be pretty concerned as to whether or not there was a God)

Atheist wouldn't waste their time threatening Christians asking them to deny God or die.

But i'd probably say everyone has the right to believe in what they want, and try and get them to let you go.

Religion is the main cause of war, if anything like that did happen i would think it would be the religious who drag atheists to guillotine and ask them to accept God or die,

in which case i'd rather die as an Atheist than live as a false Christian.

I couldn't allow that to happen in my world.Not while I live.This is no grandiose boast.I am a man deeply driven by right and wrong,and honor.Over my dead body would not just you,but anyone,be in that situation.I may not be Christian,I may even particularly dislike fundamentalists,but EXECUTION?Can't say I could stop it,but I can say it won't happen while I live.Serious,strange to most maybe,but honor is a concept I hold in high regard

I'd encourage you to deny God so that you could save yourself. It would be the sensible thing to do after all.

i would save you, hypothetically that is...

although i do not like religion, i dont think people should be persecuted for their beliefs, as it is still a part of personal freedom. The only trouble is, religion itself denies those freedoms for others who do not believe ..

This has happened in the past during the spanish inquisition

They forced the natives to convert to Christianity and then killed them if they didnt.

Maybe it wil be payback?

I'd be very opposed to you having to deny something that means so much to you. Religious freedom does NOT mean forcing religion on people, but neither does it mean forcing atheism on people.

PS: Just out of curiousity - If there was nobody there to save you when it happened, what would you do..? You don't have to answer if you don't want to, of course. ;)

I would be wondering why they were so motivated by a lack of belief in something...

and then...I would rush forward and say 'take me instead'...
