Atheist why Religion and Spirituality.?

What exactly are you looking for in Religions and Spirituality. i am asking you this because the religion's definition is as follows ...

Religions of the world can be broadly categorized into Semitic religions and non-Semitic religions. Non-Semitic religions can be divided into Aryan religions and non-Aryan religions.

Semitic religions

Semitic religions are religions that originated among the Semites. According to the Bible, Prophet Noah (pbuh) had a son called Shem.

The descendants of Shem are known as Semites. Therefore, Semitic religions are the religions that originated among the Jews, Arabs, Assyrians, Phoenicians, etc. Major Semitic religions are Judaism, Christianity and Islam. All these religions are Prophetic religions that believe in Divine Guidance sent through prophets of God.

Non-Semitic religions

The non-Semitic religions are further subdivided into Aryan and non-Aryan religions:

Aryan Religions

Aryan religions are the religions that originated among the Aryans, a powerful group of Indo-European speaking people that spread through Iran and Northern India in the first half of the second Millenium BC (2000 to 1500 BC).

The Aryan Religions are further subdivided into Vedic and non-Vedic religions.

The Vedic Religion is given the misnomer of Hinduism or Brahminism. The non-Vedic Religions are Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, etc.

Almost all Aryan religions are non-Prophetic religions.

Zoroastrianism is an Aryan, non-Vedic religion, which is not associated with Hinduism. It claims to be a prophetic religion.

Non-Aryan Religions

The non-Aryan religions have diverse origins. Confucianism and Taoism are of Chinese origin while Shintoism is of Japanese origin.

Many of these non-Aryan religions do not have a concept of God. They are better referred to as ethical systems rather than as religions.

The section is a place for ideas on religion, not to practice YOUR religion. And considering most Atheists have been of the religious sort sometime in their life we also have ideas to contribute.

Yes, you would think atheists would have nothing to do with religion.   After all, God and atheists is an oxymoron.

So, the answers we are seeing to your question are really truthful.  They are the reasons why atheists visit this group.   The reason is basically, "It is fun to make fun of stupid people."    This should sound familiar.   It is the usual response of any insecure group of people.  The topic doesn't matter.   Such people have to insult others in order to lift themselves up.

The comment about "not going to the astronomy group because stupid people don't exist there" directly implies that astronomers are not Christians.  That is a false assumption.  Many Christians are astronomers.   I know several, including Rocky Squirrel.  And by the way,  Isaac Newton, the most venerated astronomer of all time, who Einstein himself claimed as the best scientist of all time, was a Christian.

Well, I'm not a Republican but I might want to comment on or start a discussion about Republicans. I'm not g*y, but I might want to respond to a rant from a homophobe in the L*****n/g*y category. I think you misunderstand what these topics mean.

The topic here is not "Believers in Religion and Spirituality" - it's simply Religion & Spirituality, meaning that anyone who has opinions or questions on the subject is welcome here.

Atheists possibly have more to contribute than this section than most theists.  This is a section to ask and answer questions about religion and spirituality, not to practice religion.

Religion and those who follow it threaten humanity and the very planet we live on.  It has delayed human advancement on this planet over 600 years.  More wars have been fought and more people have died over superstitious religious beliefs than for any other reason.

Since 911 the threat to us all has grown from Islam and in response, Christianity.  We are now near a time when we must ask ourselves if religious tolerance and unchecked freedom of religion are worth it or whether it must be controlled or completely removed for the good of us all.
