  1. We are rational beings, so we don't believe in fairy tales.  If you're post-childhood and still believe you're going to "heaven" or "h**l" after death, you're a fool. Grow up and accept reality.

  2. None of us.

Once I die, I'm gone.  I won't feel anything, I won't think anything and I won't be anything other than a decaying organism.  Nothing special about that.  Nor is there anything to fear, because, well... I just won't BE anymore, you know?

EDIT:  I'm not quite sure why I'm getting thumbs down on this.  It was just my opinion and it wasn't offending anybody.  But whatever, so be it.

  3. I don't.

  4. Nope, I will become daisy chow and be food for beee you teee ful frowers...   8^}

  5. According to Dr Philip Zimbarodo 99% of all people believe in the afterlife.

    I know I do.

    All the best.

  6. I don't believe in an afterlife.

  7. Not this one, nor any other Atheist I've ever met.

Why? Because we tend to stick to reality. Fairy tales are for theists.

  8. I do, but not in the Christian sense.

  9. Ever thought of getting back in school?

  10. What happens to a drop of rain when it lands in the ocean?

  11. I believe in an afterlife. Specifically I believe in mind uploading and artificial intelligence as a means of reviving ourselves

  12. Of any kind? Well, I guess decomposition falls under the umbrella since it happens after life (otherwise known as death).

That's an attempt at wittily saying: "This one doesn't"

  13. If by 'afterlife' you mean my consiousness no longer exists and my body is decomposing, then yes, I believe in one.

  14. im going to go out on a limb here and say none of us...

  15. Nope.

  16. I don't..

  17. I do. I do!  waves hand, excitedly

After my life, I am going to be cremated!!

    After life!!!

    End of story!!

  18. Nope.  I didn't miss not having a before-life.  I won't miss not having an after-life.  Don't want or need one.

  19. Our spirits are light, energy. They have always been and always will be alive. Just the physical body dies. I've lived many, many lives. The part about dying I hate the most is the last breath. It's like oh, no, not again. Then release. I remember.

  20. You should understand that with so many atheists and others here who think and say very openly that atheists "shouldn't" or "don't" believe in anything unprovable... you won't get as many "yeses" as there are people to say yes.

I will be honest and say that I am one of those who believes this. Atheists can believe in an afterlife and yet no god to rule over it. I don't live my life by it or think it's a "place" for "certain" people. I also don't concern myself with it much... but I do think there is some sort of existence or continuation after the physical body dies.. which many would like to say is an "after life". I don't call it that, but that is what you are getting at, so there is my answer.

  21. It's a nice idea, but I'm a strong skeptic by nature and don't necessarily *believe* that such a thing is real. Though were it I don't feel that it would be some far off fairy kingdom in the sky, but still just a part of Earth.
