  1. I look at it like this.  Most likely there is nothing when you die, so after I die I won't exist meaning I won't care anymore.  If, in the slim possibility that there is an afterlife, no way has any human being gotten it correct.  The stories are just too stupid and too simplistic.  Plus, hasn't science all but proven nearly every aspect of the Bible wrong by now (creationism disproved by the fact that inbreeding creates genetic disorders, creationism by the fact of evolution, Earth as the center of the universe by Galileo, etc., etc.)?  I'm not really worried about the Christian concept of h**l because it is obviously a human construct to scare people into believing, nothing more and nothing less.  Even the religion that the Christians "created" their religion from, Judaism, does not believe in h**l.  The concept of h**l is a very immature way of thinking and basing your life on.

  2. Death scares me, but so? Should I really be frightened into believing God?

  3. Death is a part of living,  all things live, and all things die.

  4. Death is an inevitability, doting on it at all is a waste of time.

  5. What is there to be afraid of if you don't believe in h**l? Death is death, you are done, in the dirt, that's it. You won't be around to be depressed. I am an athiest and my mom threatens me with h**l all the time. I see it as all of those with faith are naive and in denial. How can people justify that we are superior? That a grasshopper isn't as important as us? That because we have larger brains and complex thought that we must have 'souls'? Shouldn't things be equal??? Death seems less scary if people tell themselves a fairy tale about an afterlife. I feel I'm being honest with myself. The thought of death is very scary and saddening. I'm afraid of the pain involved in dying, and I'm saddened at the thought of all the things I won't get to do in life, but I'm not worried about where I go...I know that's it, like I'm falling asleep, forever...

  6. Death is impossible to be scared off because thats a state of being. You can be afraid of dying cuz you experience it. No one has experienced death becasue they wouldnt be talkin

  7. As a child I was nearly drowned - two friends died in the incident but I was saved.

In military service I have been shot and stabbed and survived.

I survived a bad car accident and eventually recovered fully.

I have a medical condition with a 15% chance of survival for 5 years and had it for over 25 years!!!

I have on two separate occasions been given 3 months and 6 months to live and come through it all!!

I play golf, tennis and walk 20 K every week. On top of that I swim and walk nearly every day.

If I was a Christian I have no doubt there would be claims of several miracles but I am not and have survived with the help of medical science and a healthy lifestyle!!!

Miracles are only necessary for the weak!!!

When my time comes - so be it - until then I will continue to live this life and not waste it hoping for another!!!

  8. When it happens it will happen until it does I won't waste my time worrying about it or ruin my life being afraid of something completely natural and inevitable .

  9. Your question doesn't quite make sense to me.

Someone a few days ago put it best. I'm not afraid of death, I'm afraid of the mode of dying.

  10. Not at all - just would prefer it to be quick and painless.

  11. well, i dont like the idea of dying (no one honestly does)  but hey, its a part of life. and when im dead i wont care because im dead

as long as i live a full life (dont waste it by not fullfiling dreams) im ok with dying

  12. Not at all. I'm just scared of dying. Especially drowning.

  13. Not particularly.  But the prospect of getting there is of concern; it is likely to be painful, expensive, or both.

  14. Actually if your atheists you dont believe in h**l or heaven. You live your best and fullest and thats all to life.

  15. we all have to be born...

    we all have to die....

why waste time worrying over something that could happen today, tomorrow or in 100 years time??...

Im an atheist and believe that we should all live for today and to the fullest and happiest you can...

  16. I'm not afraid of death. Death is inevitable, I accept the fact that one day I'm going to die, so too will the people around me. As much as I wish I could live forever, I live by the laws of the universe that were created with physics and logic. :]

  17. People are naturally afraid of the unknown, and death has the unique distinction of being the one universal factor in human life that no one can describe to you after going through it.

I fear death, but I accept it as inevitable. I know that it is necessary and healthy for a balanced and thriving ecosystem. I know that death begets life, and so I am comfortable with it.

  18. why would i be afraid, its a natural thing.  I want to live and fear a painful death, but i dont fear death

  19. I'm not scared of it but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try and fight scave it off. There is nothing after death no feeling or thought so I don't' worry about it.

  20. I'm scared of dying, not death.  That's why I'm a transhumanist.

  22. I don't think about it much

I'm sad that it takes it up so much of your thinking time though.  It does explain an awful lot however.

  23. I am not as scared of death as I am of the couple of minutes just before death.  I imagine they will hurt alot.

  24. Death is a process of all life, fear it or not, it is still coming.

  25. I am actually afraid of the prospect of no longer living because I enjoy living. Though death is inevitable I should like to postpone it and live well for as long as I can. This is what I am studying to do.

  26. Watching your life pass before your eyes is  actually kind of peaceful.

  27. It's the dying I don't like.

  28. I'm not afraid of death because all humans must accept it sometime in their life, and not deny it and follow this worthless joke religion christianity and believe that you have priority to life just because you made a make-believe relationship with a fictitious character.
