  1. they dont

    why do you encourage them?

  2. I believe there was a Jesus of Nazareth.  And also, what are you talking about?

  3.    All the apostles and disciples thought that Paul was the top dog. :) I agree.

  4. I can argue the finer points of Ahab's personality, without belief in his existence.

  5. If I don't believe in Jesus the Christ then it is inherent that I don't think he was capable of sending anyone to do anything.

  6. Question is too confusing.  Must be some history that I'm missing.

  7. Erm............is it just me or is the answer to this self evident.

Is it early in the morning where you are?

    I recommend coffee.

    peace

    maybe some toast too

  8. I agree with Atom74... my goodness! Some days I know you're serious... and some days I'm almost positive you're a troll. Honestly, why the obsession with Paul?

  9. Well, if we don't believe in him, then we also don't believe he 'sent' anybody. Duh.

  10. Well, since the very first few paragraphs of the bible establish it as a work of fiction, I don't particularly care what other characters say later on.

  11. Um, is this answer not self-evident?

  12. Not at all. I'm not an atheist, but you don't have to believe in jesus to no history. And there is a big debate in the church right now as to weather or not Paul's writings  should even be kept in the bible so atheists aren't the only ones that doubt Paul's writings. Most of the christians on here don't seem to undertand how evolution works, yet they don't believe in it, so same question to you.

  13. Can we kick Paul out of the Bible already? His intent was clearly to water down Jesus' radical message to suit the powers that be, and it worked.

  14. ive never heard an atheist say this, what would they know concerning these issues anyway.

  15. Because I am literate and can read the Bible. Some days you seem so clear and some days you just don't.

EDIT: I mean really. I know you have some life long quest to disprove atheism to be wrong. And good luck with that. But I can just as easily comment oh Hinduism, Buddhism, Atheism, Christianity, and some Pagan theologies. I studied them for 20+ years now. Quite in depth.

Just because one thinks the Bible not to be the word of God, and religion to be corrupted. Does not make it simply vanish. I know the Bible is real, I have read it. I just think it to be a book, like any other.

  16. Here, let me save you a crapload of time...

We atheists do not believe in god(s), Jesus, or any other supernatural deity.

Therefore, for me at least, means that your bible stories are NOT true history and they mean nothing to us.

Who gives a rats butt about your mythical Paul?

  17. I'm not Atheist, though I am Agnostic, so, If one doesnt believe in jesus in the first place, why would they even think about him sending anyone anywhere?

  18. How can we know that a person we don't believe in didn't do something?

    That's a pretty silly question, isn't it?

  19. First, you (as usual) wrongly assume that all Atheists think the same way. We are not generic as are Christians.

Most of us accept the existence of the man, but deny the divinity of your Christ.

Paul may or may not have been sent by Jesus, but he and Peter are certainly responsible for marketing your religion.

  20. The fact that you seem to think atheists believe the bible is a good explanation for your inability to understand us.

  21. Huh?  Do you realize how little sense your question makes?

If you think that Zoroaster wasn't the first prophet to develop Cosmic Dualism, the concepts of h**l and Heaven, and the first truely evil diety (all concepts which directly influenced the ideas adopted by the Christian faithful) then how can you say God didn't send him?

I hope my paragraph confuses you as much you confuse your own religion...

  22. If someone made up a story about a man who was god and that story was handed down for thousands of years then there are bound to be a few gullible fools who believe it.

  23. Correct. I dont believe in Buhda or Mohammed so I don,t worry about who they sent.If Paul wasn't an apostle he sure tried to be. He even died for those beliefs.

  24. Paul? McCartney? I thought he was from England.

  25. Well, for those atheists that believe that Jesus never existed, then he could not have "sent" Paul, because his non-existence prevented him from "sending" anybody.

I personally believe that Jesus existed, but was not particularly divine.  Just a guy with some novel ideas.  I'm not sure what you mean by "sending" people, but I'm inclined to believe that he did not have the power to "send" Paul, or anyone else, since I assume you're referring to some supernatural ability.

  26. I answer your questions from a strict literary perspective.  The same as I can answer questions regarding the family tree of Sirius Black (that's a character in the Harry Potter series).  Because I have read the stories with a fine-toothed comb.  I know the criteria the Bible sets out for being an apostle, and Paul does not meet it.  It's that simple.
